Photo Club CIEL is open to anyone interested in photography, from absolute beginner to experienced photography enthusiast, young and old. We started in 1968 as a club for EU officials, but for the last few decades almost half of our members have been photo enthusiasts from all walks of life in Luxembourg and the Grande Région.
We meet every Monday at 20.00 with a varied programme:
– we discuss and exchange constructive feedback on our photos
– we show and learn how to process digital images on the computer
– we give members the opportunity to host a carte blanche evening on a photographic theme of their choice;
– we organise themed outings, e.g. to the Schueberfouer, or focusing on ‘street photography’;
– we provide photographic equipment (slide scanners, cameras and lenses);
– we run a library of art books and books on photographic technique;
– we organise various photo training courses in English and French.
In addition to our weekly activities, every year we organise a group exhibition on a theme that we choose together and work on throughout the year. You will find more details on our Exhibitions page.
Some of our members share photos in our Flickr group.
Where can you find us ?
We meet at the Foyer européen, 10 rue Heinrich Heine in Luxembourg City, from mid-September to the end of June, with a summer break. Check the programme before you come, as we sometimes organise outings. We recommend that you contact us at info@ciel.lu before your first visit.
